Hey,
my name is Patricia Leigh, but everyone calls me Pat. I live in a suburb of Melbourne, Australia.
I am semi-retired, having worked as a nurse up until late 2025. I am now a “stay at home” carer looking after my 91yr old mother. We live with 3 King Charles Cavalier dogs in a smoke free home.
I have always loved dolls and I have my small eclectic collection of dolls I have accumulated during my life. I was never fortunate enough to have a Sasha in my childhood and my first Sasha came to me in 2023. I have since fallen down the Sasha rabbit hole. As many collectors and lovers will understand, I am smitten by this doll.
I very much respect Sasha Morgenthaler’s philosophy of a “universal childhood” and the dolls with their neutral expressions, and childlike innocence, really appeal to me. I was already sewing clothes for my 16-inch and 18-inch Ideal Crissy dolls, hence sewing for Sasha size was not new to me.
My other main hobby is collecting and restoring Vintage sewing machines. All the clothes I make for my dolls are made on my vintage sewing machines and overlockers. I enjoy my time sewing on my lovely old machines and the process of making my doll clothes. Maybe in a similar way that mums might have done back in the 60s and 70s.
If you would like to see part of my collection of sewing machines, feel free to visit www.eyemaozi.org
Before I send off any of my doll clothes that I make. I make sure I have removed any “Cavalier glitter” (Dog hair) that might have wafted up onto my sewing table. However, if you have an allergy or aversion to dog hair please be aware.
